ITINERARY
Day 1. Arrival in St. Petersburg. Transfer to the hotel. Your first night in St Petersburg!
Day 2. After breakfast in the hotel, a bus tour around the city.
You will see the major sights of St. Petersburg, including the Peter & Paul Fortress (the oldest building in St. Petersburg, used as a political prison before 1917) and the Church of Christ’s Resurrection (The Saviour of the Blood), which revives the traditions of 17th century Russian church building.
Day 3. After breakfast we will be transferred to the most famous palace in the suburbs of St. Petersburg - Petrodvorets. Peter the Great built a number of palaces along the shore of the Gulf of Finland some 20 miles west of St. Petersburg. This ensemble is called Peterhof. Best known for its glorious fountains and Summer Gardens, the palace is often compared to France's Versailles.
Day 4. Today we will visit one of the world famous museums, the Hermitage, housed in the former Winter Palace. The museum contains an enormous collection of Western Art, including works by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Picasso and many other great masters. It also contains Historical, Russian and Oriental sections, which are definitely worth visiting. From the 1760s onwards, the Winter Palace was the main
residence of the Russian Tsars. Magnificently located on the bank of the river Neva, this Baroque-style palace is perhaps the major attraction of St. Petersburg. Transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK in the late afternoon.
