This cycling adventure will give you a real taste of the Russian north – cycling through traditional Russian villages and around the beautiful Karelian lakes, you will enjoy to the full the mellow beauty of the northern Russian landscape, and visit places with a rich history that are not yet spoiled by tourist crowds and preserve their original culture to be discovered by pioneering visitors.

The route is not difficult, but you need to be in good physical condition to participate and enjoy in full this cycling adventure in the heart of the Russian north. At the end of your journey, as a final touch to this active discovery trip, you will reach the legendary isle of Kizhi, where you’ll visit a unique open-air museum of wooden architecture, with beautiful wooden churches built without a single nail, and houses turned into works of art by talented Russian craftsman. This cycling tour gives you a chance to discover Karelia, a unique part of Russia, in a most fascinating way. Day 1 Arrival in St. Petersburg. Transfer to the hotel. Optional – bus tour “St. Petersburg at night”. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2 Sightseeing tour around St. Petersburg. Visit to the major highlights of St. Petersburg - Peter & Paul Fortress and St. Isaac´s Cathedral. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3 Bus/ coach transfer to Sopokha village (approx. 60 km). Radial cycling. Overnight in tents. Cycling distance: approx. 35 km.
Day 4 Continue cycling. Overnight in tents. Cycling distance: approx. 60 km.
Day 5 Today’s destination is Lake Trasmozero with its historical Sapun hill. Overnight in tents. Cycling distance: approx. 60 km.
Day 6 The whole day at the Lake Trasmozero: cycling, hiking or simply relaxing. Overnight in tents.
Day 7 Today’s route allows you to enjoy an amazing Northern architecture stopping at the picturesque Karelian villages. Overnight in tents. Cycling distance: approx. 60 km.
Day 8 Continue cycling through authentic Karelian villages Overnight in tents. Daily cycling route of approx. 56 km.
Day 9 Visit to the famous Kizhi ensemble – masterpiece of wooden architecture. Transfer to Petrozavodsk to catch your train to St. Petersburg.
Day 10 Arrival in St. Petersburg. Transfer to the hotel or airport to catch your flight back home. If your flight is in the afternoon you can enjoy some additional sightseeing in St. Petersburg.
