Discover the Beauty of the Russian Venice - St. Petersburg (CB-02)

It was a great trip. In particular I can't imagine better guides. I had Mischa in Moscow and Svetlana in St Petersburg. Mischa had so much knowledge on a wide range of topics and was very easy to relate with. He had a great sense of humour and had a personality that was very easy to relate with. He is a consummate professional. Similarly Svetlana has those same qualities. They both shared their personal lives with me and that was as much an education as seeing the sights. In fact it was more valuable to me as I could see many of the sights in books and on line, it is only through the personal experiences that we learn about other cultures. The hotels in both instances were of a great standard, more than meeting my expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful and the key staff had great English. I think you probably under rate the Ambassador hotel, I think it is more closely described as almost five star, it is a great hotel.
Scott Dutton The trip went without a hitch. The transfers from and to the airport and various vehicle transports were all on time and very efficient. The 2 drivers were most helpful and courteous. The Hotel (Ambassador) was exceptional. The food served was very good. Breakfasts were outstanding, in fact this was one of the few places I have stayed in were they can actually produce a decent scrambled egg. Natasha our guide for 3 days was a really wonderful ambassador for Russia. She was very intelligent, very switched on to her attendees, well versed in her subject and very pleasant to talk to. She was a real treat.
J. Woodward We found Lena to be an exceptional guide and the rest of our group(six people from London) where also great. Olga and Katia were also good guides. So many thanks again and my mother and I are still on a high from visiting a most beautiful city.

Michael White The tour guides and drivers were lovely. The tour guide around the hermitage was lovely and I think stayed past her contracted hours to show us around the museum as much as possible. She gave us a very comprehensive tour and due to this we didn’t need to stay in the museum past 2.00pm. She also did the tour at Katherine palace which was beautiful. Again the tour guide made this special encouraging us to walk in the beautiful snow filled gardens, v memorable.
Dharini Sha Our guide, Svetlana, was excellent. Please convey our praise back to her agent. We managed two visits to the ballet. We were allotted an excellent room at the Azimut hotel immediately on arrival and were in it less than half an hour from our arrival in St P. The view from the 15th floor was quite something.

Dorothea Quallead Natalie, our guide in St Petersburg, was quite excellent. Her introductory tour of St Petersburg was very good, and enabled us to orientate ourselves and get a good feel for the city. St Petersburg we found to be an easy city to walk around, and the hotel was very centrally located. In conclusion, a very interesting experience.
Mike Powell Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. Ballet was exquiisite and such a wonderful experience. Folk show was great fun , very lively and colourful. Would recommend both.
Sandra Baillie Although it was a standard tour, the guide/s were very flexible and helpful eg helping us to choose and book theatre tickets. We chose the tour because it was only St Petersburg. The highlight was The Hermitage (the guide was excellent and very necessary to our appreciation of the visit).
July 2009 Our travel consultant was excellent and organised the tour to our exact requirements with ease, efficiency and patience as this was our first trip to Russia. We had lots of questions. Olga our guide in St Petersburg was outstanding and looked after us very well. We visited everything as expected but avoided the long queues.
Jonathan Davies Overall it was a good trip and the people on the trip were all nice although a complete mixture. The company no doubt made it a great holiday. Helen was a great guide in St Petersburg. Especially at The Hermitage she excelled although we felt we would have liked a longer time there.
Frances Collins Our guides were excellent and very informative, showing us the many sides of Russian history and culture. All the accomodation was spotless and the staff in all places were helpful and polite... Even our driver who picked us up at the train station and also brought us to the airport was lovely - and while he was driving us would also point out different sites and tell us little things about the areas we were driving through.
