TWO CAPITALS OF RUSSIA - PACKAGE TOUR (CB-03)

OVERVIEW

DETAILED ITINERARY

PRICE AND INCLUSIONS
Make the most of your visit to Russia with our most popular tour; have a real taste of all the best this mysterious country can offer – from magnificent, powerful, busy Moscow to the aristocratic beauty of St Petersburg, the Venice of the North. You start your trip in Moscow, the fast-growing cultural, political and business centre of the biggest country in the world, which also offers some of the best cultural and entertainment opportunities in Europe. The architecture of Moscow is an impressive mix of medieval Russian style with magnificent buildings from the Stalin era, and concluding with some impressive 21st century developments.

From busy, luxurious Moscow, bursting with its rich history and “new money”, you move to St Petersburg, the capital of Russia during the Golden age of the dynasty of Tsars, where the most exquisite buildings and palaces were built for Russian aristocrats. With the possible exception of the Louvre, there is no museum in the world that rivals the main museum, the Hermitage, in size and quality, and there is no city in the world to rival St Petersburg in its noble beauty.

Join us in this fascinating journey of discovery and share our passion for our unique Russian history and culture!

CUSTOMERS REVIEW
We were really impressed with the cafes and resturants we found. Wonderful service and cakes to die for. And those Russian breakfasts; wow! Those who think Russian food is all about cabbage should go and see how good your food really it. For two people who actually dislike tours Go Russia was the perfect fit, just the right balance between organised trips and free time, plus small groups. As for the Red Arrow, what an amazing train! One of the high points of the journey. We are now telling everyone we know that they just have to forget all the media sterotypes, and go see for themselves. Its well worth it. It was a fascinating experience, particularly since we have both visited your country in Soviet times. Thanks for everything!

Our understanding of Russian history, art and architecture was enhanced immensely by our trip and we really enjoyed the opportunity to visit galleries and buildings and learn so much. Another highlight was the whole day spent in the Hermitage museum, the first half with the guide and the afternoon by ourselves exploring our particular personal interests. The two cities are very different and it was interesting to visit them both. Thank you again for organising this trip for us and we will remember it for a very long time.

We had a wonderful time, so busy we hardly had time to eat !! Everything fitted together like clockwork, everyone and everything was on time, no hitches, no delays, no problems at all. The guides in both cities were excellent, their knowledge was astounding and they were both very very nice people, nothing was too much trouble, their enthusiam for Russia was contageous. The Red Arrow was great, on time, super clean and comfy - puts British Rail to shame. In fact we were stunned by the lack of litter in both cities, no graffitti in Moscow at all and the feeling of general security when walking around. Thank you and well done.
Christine Dixon
We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed all parts of the trip. Both cities were fantastic and we felt very safe when out until quite late. All of the parts organised by yourselves went exactly according to plan. All the pick-ups were on time. The guides were excellent and deserve a special mention. Thanks again I would not hesitate to use your sevice again, or recommend you to others.

All the arrangements went well. We all enjoyed the Cosmos Hotel, too. I know it has mixed reviews, but 'it is what it is' and we thought it was lively and fun. The lady in the desk was helpful when we asked for an extra bed for our daughter, the security men were thorough, the views were impressive, it was well positioned and convenient and best of all, it was not like anywhere we've ever stayed before (which is exactly how it should be!). The breakfasts were great too. Irina the guide was absolutely fabulous. She knew so much about everything and was generous in sharing her knowledge and experiences with us. Moscow was not as we imagined: we knew it would be fascinating, but we weren't prepared for its beauty or for how easy it would be to get around. The balance of planned mornings and free afternoons was good. We saw so much, but wanted to stay longer. We all loved the circus and the ballet was beautiful. We enjoyed the train too. It couldn't have been better.

The trip was 'a dream come true' and our guides were remarkable people, who with great dedication, sincerity, courtesy and graciousnes led us through the most interesting art galleries, museums and palaces. We absolutely adored the cathedrals in both cities. This was a most memorable trip and I want to thank you for arranging matters for us in a professinal and thoughtful way.

All arrangements were very well organised - we were particularly impressed with the over night train - I guess we were slightly worried about the level of comfort but it was a lovely trip, great accommodations and we all managed to sleep quite well. The circus was great - tonnes of fun. Well worth recommending to tourists and the animals did look well cared for and they were enjoying themselves.

Nothing could have prepared me for the first impact of seeing Red Square and the area around it, that then takes your breath away a second time when you see it lit up at night. The real surprise for us was the Tretyakov art gallery in Moscow. To be fair neither if us are that interested in art, but really enjoyed it and was actually struggling to get round in the allotted time, because it was so interesting and impressive. Everything about the organisation from your Company was first class and I cant find any thing that I would fault.
Andrew Bird
During the booking process, we were impressed with the personalised nature of Go Russia service and how reactive you were to our questions. I would not hesitate to recommend you to other travellers, for us you provided enough support whilst letting us also be independent whilst in Russia.
