Best of Moscow & St. Petersburg Guided Tour (CB-17)

We had an excellent and very interesting visit, especially as the political situation was warming up whilst we were there. Thank you for your organisation and advice; all arrangements worked really well. We really wanted to let you know how impressed we were with Sergei, our guide in Moscow. He is a very gracious man and was prepared to go out of his way to ensure that we got the most from our visit.

Karen Arnold It was a great trip. In particular I can't imagine better guides. I had Mischa in Moscow and Svetlana in St Petersburg. Mischa had so much knowledge on a wide range of topics and was very easy to relate with. He had a great sense of humour and had a personality that was very easy to relate with. He is a consummate professional. Similarly Svetlana has those same qualities. They both shared their personal lives with me and that was as much an education as seeing the sights. In fact it was more valuable to me as I could see many of the sights in books and on line, it is only through the personal experiences that we learn about other cultures. The hotels in both instances were of a great standard, more than meeting my expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful and the key staff had great English. I think you probably under rate the Ambassador hotel, I think it is more closely described as almost five star, it is a great hotel.
Scott Dutton All the arrangements went very smoothly and it is impossible to single out particular features: art galleries, palaces, cathedrals, restaurants, ballet and opera were all superb and have given us happy memories to savour. Actually, I can single out one particular aspect of our tour — the two guides that you arranged for us were excellent; both Natalya in Moscow and Svetlana in StP.

The guides worked hard to keep us informed about what we were seeing and to fit as much as possible into a limited time. Linda Hay All the hotels were exactly as described. You chose them well and we were well looked after.(we even experienced a FREE mini bar in our Moscow hotel – I have never experienced that anywhere in the world!!) Our Tour guides were excellent in all three cities – especially in St Petersburg where Svetlana (and her husband) really put themselves out to make our group (a quite different group to their normal groups) well looked after.

Lorraine Faulkner The trip was unforgettable, to actually be standing in Red Square was quite something and so many beautiful buildings to see in both cities. The organised excursions were great, The Nutcracker was wonderful as was the visit to the Summer Palace at Puskin, the Moscow Metro is quite unbelievable! Its just a shame that we didnt have more free time to see other sites. The hotels were both very good, and the whole organisation of the trip is to be applauded.
Matt Bassett Overall it was a good trip and the people on the trip were all nice although a complete mixture. The company no doubt made it a great holiday. Helen was a great guide in St Petersburg. Especially at The Hermitage she excelled although we felt we would have liked a longer time there.

Nicola Crouch Our guides were excellent and very informative, showing us the many sides of Russian history and culture. All the accomodation was spotless and the staff in all places were helpful and polite... Even our driver who picked us up at the train station and also brought us to the airport was lovely - and while he was driving us would also point out different sites and tell us little things about the areas we were driving through.

They made such a difference to our experience of visiting all the sites we went to with them, and particularly the Hermitage and Russian Museum, which were made even more interesting by the tour and commentary we were given.

Alan Chubb All arrangements were very well organised - we were particularly impressed with the over night train - I guess we were slightly worried about the level of comfort but it was a lovely trip, great accommodations and we all managed to sleep quite well. The circus was great - tonnes of fun. Well worth recommending to tourists and the animals did look well cared for and they were enjoying themselves.
