Moscow was wonderful, the hotel was ideal, our guide - Luba - was excellent, exceedingly informative, sensitive to the needs of the students and a lovely personality, I would definitely request her again. The lunches in the cafes worked very well, it was nice to have such a variety of food and atmosphere. The bunker was amazing and very much enjoyed by the students, apart from the claustrophobic ones who came back up before the tour was finished! The other visits were great too, the circus was certainly something to remember and the underground was easy to navigate.
The overnight train was very good, the only thing I will have to remember for next time is that male and females are put in the same carriage - we are not as used to this and our male member of staff was a little embarrassed to be sharing with us women! For us it wasn't so much a problem but we were lucky that the composition of the group was such that there the right amount of girls to fill 2 compartments and enough boys to fill up 3 compartments as under our regulations we wouldn't be able to have male and female students sharing. It was brilliant though to wake up in St. Petersburg, refreshed and ready to see the sights.
St. Petersburg was just as stunning as I remembered and it was so nice to be back there. The food at the Hotel was very good, our guide was great and the trip to the university went well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Folk show and it was perfect having it on the last night. The students enjoyed the mix of History and culture - they said it was a grueling itinerary but definitely worth it - a trip they will never forget!
So all in all it was an excellent trip - thanks so much for all your organisation. I will be running this again but I think I will run it in 2 years time

Russia was wonderful thanks and the trip ran excellently. There was only one slight problem with the hotel in St. Petersburg - they didn't know we were checking in in the morning and there was some persuasion needed to allow us to check in and leave our suitcases, the man at reception also didn't know anything about us having breakfast there as we were only booked in for the breakfasts for the following two days, it turned out after some time and many phone calls that we were booked in for breakfast in their 'sister' hotel across the road. We also had our evening meals in there - although this took a bit to discover too! LEIGHTON PARK SCHOOL
We visited Moscow and St Petersburg. The GoRussia staff were helpful and efficient from the outset. We were accompanied at all times and our guides were extremely knowledgeable. Moreover, they went to some trouble to meet our, probably inconvenient, wishes and last minute changes of plan.
