Shanghai is the largest China’s city and an important economic, financial, international and cultural centre of China. It is very modern city by Chinese standards - although Shangai’s history dates back couple thousand years back, when it was just a small fishing village, the city has been transformed to flourishing trading city and since became world’s fourth largest city. Shanghai is located on the estuary of the Yangtze River and is China’s biggest port.

Shanghai is also a melting pot of different cultures. It has a unique blend of western and traditional Chinese culture as well as the ancient Shanghai culture.

Shanghai is famous for its modern culture. There are many famous attractions and sites in and around the city. Top of them are The Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Nanjing Road, Xin Tian Di, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Museum, Jade Buddha Temple and Zhujiajiao Water Town.

Shanghai has distinctive four seasons - spring and autumn are cool and comfortable while the summer is blistering hot and winter is freezing cold. The best time to visit Shanghai is spring and autumn. As one of the most popular travel destinations in China, Shanghai is crowded for most Chinese holidays.
